Installation
Use the Jury Base Chair Floor Mounting Details drawing as reference for the following instructions.
- Use approved floor plan to establish hole locations for the bases.
- When mounting chairs over carpet, punch four 5/8" diameter holes in carpet to match holes in the base. Bolt base to the floor as per the appropriate anchoring method. Use 1/4" flat head machine bolt or wood screws and countersink lock washers. Hand-tighten bolts to allow for some slight movement.
Use the Acclaim Jury Base Chair Exploded View drawing as reference for the following instructions.
- Insert the column (B) into the base (A) and slide the two-piece column shroud (C) over the column.
- Attach the mechanism (D) and seat (H) to the frame assembly (E) by using four 1/4-20 x 1" pan head machine screws and four split-lock washers. The screws will pass through the mechanism and the frame assembly to engage T-Nuts embedded in the underside of the seat.
- Attach back (J) as follows: From the front of the chair, slip the back panel over the frame assembly with the top brackets sliding over the top of the frame assembly and the bottom brackets sliding under the frame assembly. Installing the back panel from the front of the frame insures that the back brackets on the upholstered back do not scratch the paint at the rear of the frame. Align slots in the back brackets with the threaded holes in the frame assembly (four locations for each back) and insert a 1/4-20 x 1/2" SEMS machine screw in each location. Center the back panel and hand-tighten all screws first, then tighten securely.
- Gently place the assembled chair over the column (B), insuring proper directional orientation. After confirming correct alignment, apply a load to center of the frame in order to assure full engagement of tapered connections between mechanism, column, and base.
- Attach the right armrest (F) and left armrest (G) to the frame assembly using two #8 x 3/4" pan head sheet metal screws for each armrest.
- Tighten all floor attachments securely. Adjust the column shroud (C) to hide the steel cylinder (B).
Use the Aeron/Caper/Forum Jury Base Chair Exploded View drawing as reference for the following instructions.
- Insert the column (B) into the base (A) and slide the two-piece column shroud (C) over the column.
- Gently place the chair (E) over the column, insuring proper directional orientation. After confirming correct alignment, apply a load to center of the chair in order to assure full engagement of tapered connections between mechanism, column, and base.
- Tighten all floor attachments securely. Adjust the column shroud (C) to hide the steel cylinder (B).
Use the Teatro Jury Base Chair Exploded View drawing as reference for the following instructions.
- Insert the column (B) into the base (A) and slide the two-piece column shroud (C) over the column.
- Attach the mechanism (D) to the frame assembly (E) using four 1/4-20 x 1" pan head machine screws, four flat washers, four split lock washers, and four hex head nuts. See Bottom View on the Teatro Jury Base Chair Exploded View drawing for details.
- Gently place the frame assembly (E) with attached mechanism over the column (B), insuring proper directional orientation. After confirming correct alignment, apply a load to center of the frame in order to assure full engagement of tapered connections between mechanism, column, and base.
- Attach the back (J) to the frame assembly (E) using two 1/4-20 x 3/4" flat head machine screws and two 3/8-16 x 1-1/4" flat head machine screws, through the frame assembly and into the sides of the back.
- Attach the seat (H) to the frame assembly (E) using four 1/4-20 x 1" pan head machine screws and split lock washers, through the frame assembly, into the bottom the seat.
- Attach right armrest (F) and left armrest (G) to the frame assembly (E) using four #8 x 5/8" pan head sheet metal screws for each armrest.
- Tighten all floor attachments securely. Adjust the column shroud (C) to hide the steel cylinder (B).
